
Voters in Netherlands voted to reject the far right leader Gert Wilders who wants to take the country out of the EU, the PM Mark Rutte was relected and his party remains the largest in the country. Brexiteers had hoped that Netherlands would vote for Wilders which would have boosted the populist view rampaging Europe now. What this means is that the UK remains on its own in its populist view in Europe, although elections in France and Germany are due in a matter of weeks, if they vote against the far right leaders in those countries then Brexit negotiations are bound to be extremely hostile.
