Peggy Whitson is the world’s oldest and most experienced femal astronaut
The NASA flight engineer is currently in the midst of her third stint at the International Space Station

The most decorated American female astronaut returns to earth this weekend, Peggy Whitson has spent almost ten months on the international space station, the longest stay by an American, during the mission, the 57 year old astronaut became the oldest women ever in space, in all she gas spent 665 days in space more than any other American male or female. The real life super woman has previously broken the record for the most space walks taken by a woman, she has overtaken astronaut Jeff Williams, who spent 534 days in space. Girl power eh!
