No more working 40hours a week if Labour wins next election

The Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell has committed to slashing the UK’s weekly working hours from 40-hours to 32-hours which will see it overtake France’s 35-hour week policy. There’s more and wait for it; you will not get a pay cut for working less hours. The Labour Party wants to change the perception that the UK workforce works too many hours, and reverse the idea that you are living to work rather than working to live. If enacted, the policy will see you working 4 days a week as against the current 5 days. Sounds interesting right? Leave your comment and let’s know what you think.

It’s over for Thomas Cook

Thomas Cook was Britain’s oldest Travel Agency

Thomas Cook has in the early hours of today drawn its curtains on trading as it fails to secure bailout. The company which is one of the world’s largest travel companies failed to secure the extra £200m needed to keep it in business. All booking including flights and holidays have been cancelled with immediate effect. The government has made contingency arrangements to bring home 600,000 stranded customers at their holiday destinations. It’s the end of an era for the popular slogan, “don’t just book it, Thomas Cook it”!

Once the Pride of Britain, until today, Thomas Cook was the oldest Travel Company in UK

You may get away for displaying public affection (DPA) in the Uk, but you won’t be so lucky if you do so in Indonesia. Apparently DPAs violates the regions Sharia law.

Whipping is a common punishment for a range of offences in the region, including pre-marital sex, gambling, drinking alcohol and gay.

If this law applies in the UK, almost the entire population will be flogged including you reading this, Lols. ? What do you think, do laws like this instill discipline in the society or is it just barbaric? Leave your comments.

Really pissed off Moray resident shoots gull with an arrow

A gull spotted with arrow in the head looking undaunted in Elgin’s Cooper Park. The wounded bird was spotted in Elgin’s Cooper Park yesterday. Gulls are known to be sometimes aggressive in the area and have proven history of violent attack on children, but they are one of the many protected birds, meaning no one is allowed to hurt them even though they hurt people. The SPCA has warned people to reconsider their attacks on birds as they could be prosecuted. Whoever did this to this gull must really be enraged. But if they attack you or your child, can you claim self defence? A penny for your thought!

Can he break the EU shackles?

“Do or die”, “come what may”, “no ifs no buts”, remember those words? The Prime Minister is down but not out, at least not yet, but he’s got a huge mountain to climb, will he become Britain’s political Incredible Hulk? Tick tock…

Democracy gone wrong

Like all past form of government, democracy, the most favoured and loved form of government since 508 BC appears to be falling apart. From Africa to America, Asia and Europe, you need not look too far.

While African politicians, well at least the majority of them have replaced the fat cat directors that contributed to the great recession over a decade ago. These (fat cat) politicians use the means of the majority to deplete national treasuries without any substantial development to show for it.

The White House houses the most democratic repellent president in the history of American politics.

Hong Kong no longer listens to its people, instead take notes from China, the European Union project undermines democracy in many ways than one, so much so that national sovereignty has been made obsolete. After three years of voting to leave the European Union, British opposition parties have refused to accept the result of a democratic exercise, MPs usurp executive powers by passing into law a surrender bill which has executive function written all over it, their attempt to overturn a democratic referendum did not end there, a letter format was prescribed to the Prime Minister, what an abuse of power, what a disdain for democracy.

Labours’s backstabbing begins as election becomes imminent

Talking in cheek maybe, but you can read in-between the lines as the Shadow Brexit Secretary plays the game of thrones with Labour’s leadership, you can’t blame him can you, in politics there’s no permanent friend, every politician wants to wear the crown, sometimes at all cost. According to the HuffPost, Starmer thinks “a lot of people” think Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party “would do better with a different leader”. Yes Keir stab Corbyn in the back, you’re not the first, certainly won’t be the last.
