Motherhood is joyful and rewarding

Being a mother is one of the high-ranking status any woman can attain in the society, mothers are highly regarded and it comes with a presumption of societal responsibility.

But the reality is that some don’t enjoy being mothers, others find it hard while it is a set stone for some. Are you a sad mother, do you feel like your life has changed for worse because you have a baby?

It is normal to go through a low patch having to deal with parental responsibilities towards your child(ren) and the challenges that comes with looking after a child, but it is not the end of the world. Try to view happiness as a medicine and choose to be happy mum. Don’t push yourself to live to other people’s expectations, pay attention to good feelings and good times, rare as they may seem just now, they will become frequent and you will reap the benefits of motherhood.

Beware of The Dog

You’d probably have seen the sign on gates and fences warning you of a ferocious but selectively friendly dog should your luck runs out and you wander into its territory.

But who or what are the “dogs” in your life that you have to become aware of. Are they loved ones, work colleagues, or maybe events which take you to the cliff edge, triggers low mood, anxiety, depression, alcohol and drug abuse? Leaves a huge dent on your mental health. What makes you sad, isolated or the world crippling around you. These are the dogs you have to beware of, they are ferocious, and aggressive, they wield a disdain for your happiness, they will maul you without mercy, when you see the triggers ,run and fly like a butterfly.

Girl 20, takes selfies of men that asked her for sex

A student from Amsterdam found a novel way of calling out men who shouted at her in the street by taking selfies with them and posting them on Instagram.

Noa Jansma, a 20-year-old student, started the Instagram account @dearcatcallers as she “didn’t know how to respond” when men yelled at her in the street, having experienced everything from wolf-whistling to being asked for sex.

She took selfies when any man approached her in the street along with a caption stating what action the man had taken and what they had said to her.

The goal of the month-long art project was to “to create awareness about the objectification of women in everyday life” and by taking a photograph with the person who was objectifying her she “reversed power ratio”.

Noa did not tell any of the men why she was taking their photograph unless they asked, which only happened in one case, but the person still agreed to go ahead with the photo.

In fact, many of the men she photographed were “proud” to have been asked for a picture, she said.

Noa said her male friends had no idea what women of her age sometimes experienced and that is one of the reasons she undertook the project.

Her goal wasn’t to “shame” men, but she did want to make a statement.

The 20-year-old has now finished her project after one month, but she has urged other women to share selfies with their “catcallers” to show that the issue is a “global phenomenon”.

See 13 years old girl who donated organs to eight people

13 year old Jemima Layzell died from a brain aneurysm, her organs have helped a record eight different people, including five children.

Jemima Layzell, from Somerset, who died in 2012, donated her heart, pancreas, lungs, kidneys, small bowel and liver.
Jemima’s parents said she was clever, compassionate and creative – and would have been “very proud of her legacy”.
NHS Blood and Transplant said no other donor had helped as many people.
Jemima collapsed during preparations for her mum’s 38th birthday party and died four days later at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
Her heart, small bowel, and pancreas were transplanted into three different people while two people received her kidneys.
Her liver was split and transplanted into a further two people, and both of her lungs were transplanted into one patient.
Normally, a donation results in 2.6 transplants – eight is very unusual. What a gesture, Jemima forever lives on.
