Two year old girl raped in Elgin

A 28 year old man from Elgin, was caught after he left his mobile phone on to charge and a woman looked at the content and found illicit picture of a 2 year old girl. The suspect has admitted to raping a two-year-old and distributing or showing indecent photos. The presiding judge said the accused had committed “acts of breathtaking wickedness and depravity”.

The prosecution counsel told the High Court in Edinburgh: “The accused raped the child when she was two years old. The accused took indecent photographs of her and distributed these to an unknown person.”
Defence counsel said that when she consulted with the accused, he told her he wanted to plead guilty.
Judge Michael O’Grady QC said: “Only a very significant sentence in custody can begin to reflect the gravity of these crimes.”
He deferred sentence on the first offender for the preparation of a background report and risk assessment and remanded him in prison.
The accused has been put on the sex offenders’ register and was referred to Scottish ministers in terms of protection of vulnerable groups’ legislation.

Did the Lib-Dems and SNP goofed

Lib-Dems and SNP missed a chance to reposition themselves as the parties of reckoning

Politics is like a game of chess, you make a threat when developing strategies which will limit the opponent’s freedom of choice. The SNP and Lib-Dems missed the chance to make a powerful statement and make Labour feel dispensable. It was only a matter of time before the Prime Minister gets his wish for a general election, but he needed the support of the opposition parties. Labour, the leader of the opposition parties denied the government this support, that then meant the Conservative party needed the support of the Lib-Dems and SNP which if they had given, would have positioned them as a strong opposition; the parties to reckon with, but they failed to do that and the Labour Party have now seized the initiative as a result of the SNP and Lib-Dems failure to support a general election, they lost the opportunity to seize the moment, now they look invisible in the corridors of power.

Now that Brexit is extended can we talk about the traitors of democracy

UK Parliament redefined democracy; the majority of the minority

Packed full of those who wants to thwart Brexit, the House of Commons has held the country hostage for years now. Regardless of which side of the debate you belong; whether you hate the idea of Britain leaving the EU or you embrace the notion of Britain operating independently outside the EU, surely you must restrain your feelings against the rule of law, the rule that an election result has to be enforced. All the Parties in Westminster perhaps with the exception of the Scottish National Party (SNP) stood on a manifesto in 2017 general election that they would honour the result of the referendum, with the exception of the Conservative party, all have to honour that pledge. Since when does the UK, a front runner in democracy become a mediocre, where the new normal is to turn against the will of the people. Labour, Liberal Democrat, Green, Plaid Cymru, all now what no Brexit. Again, surely, if we still want to be regarded as a democratic society, we must respect the rules of democracy, it’s winner takes it all. And all the MPs who have put party over country including a few in the Conservative party should and must now pay the price in the next election. It’s been a disgrace watching opposition politicians playing politics with the people’s mandate. The electorate must now use their rarely given power to send a strong message in the next general election, no to the traitors of democracy.

Men benefit more from a thriving romance

Men get greater emotional benefits from the positive aspect of ongoing romance

It has long been said that it’s a man’s world and there’s nothing a woman or anyone for that matter can do about it. Perhaps not far from the truth, certainly the case in the realms of romance. Women put in a lot of hard work in making a relationship work, men tend to do their fair share too, maybe not always, but the theory goes that women like romance more; flowers, breakfast in bed, leave-in poetic notes etc, and that for men, sex is simply the height of romance, so much so because they need that to be happy and satisfied in their relationship, but it is not always the case. Typically, men like to take charge and be in control, women often take this stance as men being unromantic, but when a woman figure out what exactly revs their man’s engine, the sky is the limit, and even though most men don’t have the same ideas about romance as women do, they usually are the ones who get more from a good romance, but not at the expense of women, there is always enough benefit to go round, and yes it might be a man’s world, but it’s nothing without a woman in it.

Study finds men suffer more from a broken relationship than women

Contrary to popular belief that women are the ones on the receiving end of a chaotic relationship, a study has found that it is men who suffer the most. It is often normal for men to put on a brave face to patch up their ego, pretend the blow didn’t hit below the belt, they might even carry on watching the football match, go out for drinks with friends, but all that act is more likely to have a greater impact on their mental wellbeing. On the other hand, women will display their emotions in the open, cry on every shoulder they find, send bombastic messages, they will amplify their depression, express their low mood, loose their appetite, hide under the duvet cover, but the one thing they will not do is hide their feelings, that way, unlike their male counterpart, they are not storing up negative emotions. Professor Robin Simon who led the study says the result turns the narrative that women are more vulnerable to the emotional stress of relationship breakdowns. Will Scotland defy Westminster for independence?

Will Nicola Sturgeon emulate Catalonian leaders in her bid for Scottish Independence and force one if it is not granted by the British Prime Minister

Time and time again the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon has not hidden her desire to request for another Independence referendum from Westminster, and time and time again No 10 has ruled out another Independence referendum in Scotland. Unless the First Minister backs down, her only option would probably to force one against the consent of the British Prime Minister, the move is likely to be ruled unlawful by the courts. Could the First Minister and her cohorts face prison term like the Catalonian leaders if she goes down that route? Only time will tell. Have your say below, do you think Scotland should hold another referendum?
