The Police is reminding residents to lock their house and cars at night especially, as the longer nights herald. The nights gets darker earlier than usual from autumn through winter, statistically insurance don’t usually cover claims for loss or theft in the event that the car or house was not locked. #keepsafe
Moray Police have tweeted a photograph of alcohol and cigarettes confiscated from some youths who were causing nuisance Friday night in Elgin around 10:30pm. Flicking heck! Parents should take more responsibility for their kids.
If all you want for Christmas is to feel powerful, you can have that on 12 December. Not often do you have politicians looking up to you, most of the time it’s you who look up to them for better public service, employment, better wages, healthcare, even tax credit **wink**. So really, it’s your opportunity to influence the political landscape of the United Kingdom at least for the next five years. Whatever matters to you in this election, be it Brexit, NHS or even Santa Claus, the fact is a wrong choice will lead to a bleak future. Go with your head, not your heart, it is not just an election, it is about your wellbeing, your children’s future, quality of life, it is about your economic power. Familiarise yourself with the manifestos of the parties, there are many promises that either can’t be delivered or would hurt your finances if delivered, some of the promises can even ruin the country, vote wisely!
The failures of successive governments, particularly in African, Arab, Asian and Caribbean (AAAC) countries has for many decades left people from these communities almost irreversibly disadvantaged in their human rights to the basic necessities of life; housing, education, employment, health infrastructures etc, in juxtaposition with their contemporaries in western countries.
Historically, in order to create a level playing field, the system of government as practised today is an agreement between the ruled and their rulers to mitigate the magnitude of uneven happiness in the society. The advantages of organised government was sold as an idea more effective than the state of nature. Centuries after, what a fraud that has proven to be. Prior to organised government, the ruled wielded authority while the rulers were messengers, its the other way round today. One can rightly say that while the state of nature may have been a state of war, it was war amongst the people. In contrast, organised government is a state of war by the rulers upon the ruled. Simply put, a government that fails to safeguard the lives of its people by way of providing healthcare, education, housing, jobs and security is waging a war on its own people.
Sadly, many from the geographic boundaries aforementioned are “racing” away from their governments. Even more sadly, the emigration of highly gifted, skilful, trained and qualified people have become the brain drain from those nations to western nations; the loss of the former is the gain of the latter. Past and present leaders have ensured the fortunes of their countries will perpetually never be turned around. The resultant of the failings of successive governments to address the push and pull factors of under-development, but instead, corruption becomes the norm, mediocre the status quo, the people are persistently being annihilated – a seismic betrayal of the social contract in (AAAC) countries.
According to Moray Council, the affected six households in Lossiemouth which were evacuated on Wednesday due to flooding concerns have been told it’s safe to return home.
A multi-agency response, including Moray Council, Police Scotland, HM Coastguard, the Scottish Fire & Rescue service and volunteers from the Red Cross were on all hand last night to deal with potential flooding, after SEPA issued a flood warning due to the high tide and predicted large waves.
Moray Council’s senior engineers and flood manager were in constant contact with SEPA yesterday, studying flooding forecasts to prepare for any potential incident. Seventeen pallets of sandbags were deployed throughout the evening from 4pm to Shore Street, Seatown and Clifton Road, and Moray Council’s senior housing officers knocked on doors of residents and businesses thought to be most at risk, at Marina Quay and Shore Street, to advise them of potential flooding.
Roads leading to Shore Street were closed by Moray Council, under the instruction of Police Scotland, and the Coastguard carried out patrols in the harbour area.
Vivienne Cross, Moray Council’s duty Emergency Response Co-ordinator, praised the efforts of all agencies involved, and the understanding and support of the local community, including the Community Council.
“Thanks to all of our partner agencies, who worked through the night to monitor the weather when the conditions were predicted to be at their worst. Residents should be aware that SEPA’s flood warning remains in place until mid-afternoon.”
Chair of Lossiemouth Community Council, Mike Mulholland, said: “Moray Council’s performance was excellent. They had a visible presence throughout the night, which was encouraging for the community, who were reassured to see people on the ground”.
It’s as controversial as it can get but the law is clear, sex with someone who is sleeping is rape. This include between married couples, really? Well I mean, Rape is a serious crime and sex is all about consent, but while it’s not unthinkable that a spouse or partner will not give consent, to call it rape within the four walls of marriage makes it as serious as forcing yourself on a total stranger. Surely a man should be able to “do it” while his wife is sleeping, it’s called the privileges of marriage, it is fun, it is spontaneous, and it is interesting…haha, so because the wife was not aware prior to the act or did not give consent ordinarily shouldn’t amount to rape, common! The truth remains that sex is all about consent, and whether it happens between total strangers, friends, colleagues or between married couples which lacks consent, then the police will throw the full weight of the law at you. Is that fair? What do you think? Leave your comment below.
